Summer Mocktail Recipe - Lemon Basil Fizz

Summer is here and with it, comes some of the little joys that we’ve all been waiting for – including enjoying a delicious cocktail! Refreshing summer drinks are something that you can most definitely still enjoy during your pregnancy – minus the alcohol.


Here’s a mocktail recipe to try out so you can still join in all the fun during your pregnancy. This Lemon Basil Fizz mocktail is extra refreshing for a hot summer pregnancy.


And as a bonus, did you know that sour foods can help with early pregnancy nausea?


Lemon Basil Fizz Mocktail

Yield: 2 servings


Ingredients:

  • 1 lemon, cut into 4 slices and juice the remaining lemon

  • 8 fresh basil leaves

  • ¼ cup simple syrup

  • Ice

  • 355mL sparkling water


Instructions:

  1. Start with 2 sturdy cocktail glasses. Add 2 lemon slices and 3 larger basil leaves to each glass. Muddle together the lemon slices and basil leaves.

  2. Divide the simple syrup and the remaining lemon juice between the two glasses.

  3. Add ice to the top of each glass and top off with sparkling water.
